PIES + HAND PIES
Scratch-made 5" pies baked with all-butter crusts and seasonal fruit fillings. Sized perfectly for sharing with loved ones. Or not. Totally your call. The hand pies are individual pocket pies filled with seasonal fruit. Flashback to your childhood...in a good way.
Salted Caramel Apple
Our combination of cinnamon-apple filling, homemade caramel + sea salt is a winner. Pair it with our flaky, all-butter pie crust and it's just crazy good. Accept no substitute!
Ginger + Pear
Pears are often mistaken for meek fruit lacking the boastful flavor of, say, a strawberry. But when you pair the honey-sweet taste of ripe with pears with the heat of ground ginger, these Fall favorite fruits really shine. Tossing in a few handfuls of crystallized ginger doesn't hurt either.
The growing season is very long in California so we try to make the most of the juicy berries grown by local farmers. These pies won't last long as the berries are disappearing soon!
COBBLERS + CRISPS
Individual-sized treats loaded with seasonal yummi-ness.
Fall brings cooler temps and all things apple. We blend slices of our favorite varietals -- Gala, Honeycrisp, Granny Smiths -- with spice and nestle them under a thick blanket of oats, toasted almonds, and brown sugar. Perfect with homemade vanilla ice cream!
Stone Fruit Crisp
If you're one of those people who like to mix it up this dessert might be for you. We toss seasonal stone fruits like peaches, apricots, or nectarines, with crisp apples, spices and top it off with a classic oat-brown sugar-butter crisp. This is the reason why long Saturday morning runs were invented!
Individual-sized cakes with simple, seasonal flavors
Moist and fluffy chocolate cake layered with apricot preserves and covered with decadent dark chocolate ganache. Grab your fork and dive in!
Vanilla + Lavender
Our lavender plants have made the most of this year's minimal rain and are bursting with bright purple buds. We're celebrating lavender's singular flavor (it even tastes purple, right?) by infusing organic sugar used to sweeten our light, vanilla bundt cakes.
Individual sized 5" tarts....so you don't have to share unless you want to.
Plump sweet figs top a rich almond paste, all contained in a buttery tart crust. The surprise addition of juniper and rosemary flavors add a (literal) taste of Fall to the sticky, nosh-able figs. The perfect complement to stormy days and cozy wool sweaters!
Chocolate + Hazelnut
Shorter days and longer nights means you need to have a steady supply of dark chocolate on hand (or did we share too much?). This
Available as whole 1-lb loafs or individual slices. They do say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Sweet yeast dough wrapped around melted butter, sugar, and ground cardamom, then braided into a wreath-shaped loaf. Straight from Mom's recipe book...thanks Mom!
Sour Cream Coffee Cake
Another classic recipe from Mom! Dense, creamy coffee cake layered with brown sugar and spices. Your morning really shouldn't start without at least one piece of this...
Look...we know that "pumpkin spice" has gotten a bad rap lately. People are talking about boycotts and what not. We offer a different perspective: pumpkins are Fall's quintessential, seasonal fruit and we want to embrace this bounty in the form of moist, cake-y bread that contains both pumpkin and spice. Ignore the hashtags and enjoy this treat. Bucking social trends never tasted so good...
Meyer Lemon-Coconut Bread
A tropical twist on tea bread, with tangy, floral Meyer lemons and toasted coconut. One bite and it's "aloha" to the winter blues especially when paired with your favorite cup of coffee or tea.
cookies and bars
Single-serving sizes. A mix of classic recipes and new-found favorites.
We've made our position on dark chocolate pretty clear (more = better) so these brownies are our take on how best to squeeze as much cocoa-power as possible into a single bite. The batter is made with rich cocoa and dotted with dark chocolate chunks, with the slightest hint of cinnamon and "top secret" flavors in the background.
If you like a certain fig-containing cookie named after someone who first described gravity you will love these cookies. A light and flaky version of -- ahem -- that popular cookie, these bite-sized beauties have a delicate butter sough swirled around a brown sugar and date filling. We dare you to eat just one!
Classic Lemon Bar
We just can't seem to get enough of these lemon bars with buttery shortbread crusts topped with tangy-sweet lemon filling. There's Vitamin C in there somewhere, right?
Mom used to take the scraps of pie crust, brush them with melted butter, sprinkle with cinnamon + sugar and bake them alongside the pies. Frankly, we feel like this is brilliant and a perfect homage to our handcrafted pie crust. Waste not, want not....well, okay you may want more of these.
